It's the event you've all been waiting for! Smashing Pumpkins will be heading to The Forum on Friday 31st August 2018 for a very special show that you'll be glad you didn't miss!

"Some 30 years ago, as the Smashing Pumpkins, James Iha and I began a musical journey in the cramped rear bedroom of my father's house," Corgan said in a press release. "And so it's magic to me that we're able to coalesce once more around the incredible Jimmy Chamberlin to celebrate those songs we've made together."
Smashing Pumpkins: The Smashing Pumpkins are an American alternative rock band that formed in Chicago in 1988. The Smashing Pumpkins consisted of Billy Corgan (vocals/guitar), James Iha (guitar/vocals), D'arcy Wretzky (bass/vocals), and Jimmy Chamberlin (drums/percussion) for most of the band's recording career.

Disavowing the punk rock roots shared by many of their alt-rock contemporaries, the Pumpkins have a diverse, densely layered, and guitar-heavy sound, containing elements of gothic rock, heavy metal, dream pop, psychedelic rock, progressive rock, shoegazer-style production and, in later recordings, electronica.

The Smashing Pumpkins broke into the musical mainstream with their second album, 1993's Siamese Dream. 1995's double album Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, debuted at number one on the Billboard charts. However, internal fighting, drug use, and diminishing sales hampered the band and led to a 2000 break-up.

Billy Corgan and Jimmy Chamberlin reunited once again in 2007 and crafted a new band to tour in support of their new release, Zeitgeist. However, this lineup wouldn't last either, and Corgan struggled to once again craft a new lineup before the release of their latest 2012 album, Oceania. The "album within an album" has received great reviews, due in part to combining Corgan's signature style with the influence of the new band members Jeff Schroeder (guitar), Mike Byrne (drums), and NIcole Fiorentino (bass).

While the name stays the same, 2012 marks the creation of an entirely new and revolutionary Smashing Pumpkins.
