Best Coast: The hit lo-fi, indie sound of Los Angeles-based band Best Coast harkens back to heydays of surf and garage rock. Their musical style perfectly compliments their image as laid back, sometimes humors, West Coast youths as displayed on tour dates and in music videos. They first came into the public eye in 2009 with the release of their 7", Make You Mine, and have created quite a buzz in the mainstream music world with their debut album, Crazy for You. As Best Coast's career continues to escalate, they can be found on the tail end of 2011 tour dates across the US, UK, and Europe.

The story of Best Coast revolves around frontman Bethany Cosentino, a former child actress turned pop musician who actually turned down record deals as a teenager. After going to school in New York, Consentino moved back to Los Angeles and co-formed the band Pocahaunted, where she met Bobb Bruno, and built a reputation on local tour dates. The duo began working on a side project based on a love of '60s surf rock, and thus Best Coast was born. Best Coast soon released a number of 7"s and the EP Where the Boys Are, the latter of which caught the attention of a few critics and music magazines. The publicity was enough to get Best Coast a record contract, and the duo soon brought in former Vivian Girls drummer Ali Koehler as a full time member.

Best Coast's debut album, Crazy For You, was incredibly well received and has audiences wondering what the group has in store for their next record, which is currently in progress. In the meantime, audiences can catch Best Coast on their 2011 tour dates, which will be in the US until August 19. After that, they'll head to Europe until August 26, when they'll play a number of UK music festivals, including Reading and Leeds.

Tegan and Sara: Born in Calgary, Tegan and Sara began their musical path in the late 90s(1995 to be exact) and at the age of 25 have released 4 albums. Tegan currently resides in Vancouver, BC and Sara resides in Montreal, QC. Tegan and Sara plan to record and release their fifth full length in the spring of 07.

Brand New: The Long Island natives emerged on the alt-rock scene in 2002 with their hit single "Jude Law and the Semester Abroad". Since then they have released four hit albums, toured the world, and have become one of indie rocks most exciting live bands. Currently on the road, Brand New tour dates have been scheduled periodically throughout 2011. Don't miss a date on the Brand New concert schedule (2011); Use Eventful as your source for Brand New tour dates and venue information.

The bandmates formed after previous stints with local hardcore rock bands throughout Long Island. They formed in 2000 and were signed to Triple Crown Records after mustering up a four-song demo. Their debut album, Your Favorite Weapon, was released in 2001 and earned the band exposure on MTV2 and Fuse. However, it was with their tour with Taking Back Sunday and Finch that they garnered widespread exposure and earned the title of being an awesome live act. It was with their sophomore set, Deja Entendu, that they earned commercial success. The album spawned the hit single "the Quiet Things That No One Ever Knows" and propelled the album to Gold status. The album was hailed by Rolling Stone magazine as a "genre-defying…landmark album". Brand New tour dates were booked on a 24 stop headlining concert tour to promote the disc.

Brand New released their third album, The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me, in 2006 and toured throughout 2007. Most recently, Brand New released Daisy, in 2009 which debuted at #6 on the Billboard 200, becoming their first top ten entry. In June, 2011 Brand New announced a West Coast tour throughout the year. Blurring the lines between emo-punk and post-hardcore, Brand New has proven that they are not easily defined. It is with their multifarious musical talents that they easily wow live audiences. Death Cab for Cutie: Death Cab for Cutie has been one of the most popular indie bands of all time, with fans and critics alike becoming hooked on their ethereal style promoted by the tender voice of Ben Gibbard. Despite the number of bands playing tour dates in the wake of the indie music explosion, Death Cab for Cutie has developed an unmistakable style that sets them apart from the pack. With eight hit records and international stadium tour dates, Death Cab for Cutie is going strong after all these years.

Death Cab for Cutie began as a solo project by Benjamin Gibbard in 1997. He released a demo cassette titled You Can Play These Songs with Chords, which, to Gibbard's surprise, became fairly popular. The success prompted him to gather some friends from Western Washington University to form a band. Shortly after forming, the band began recording their debut album, the LP Something About Airplanes, which was released in 1998. The album became a hit on the indie scene and, along with small tour dates, Death Cab for Cutie quickly followed it up with the concept album, We Have the Facts and We're Voting Yes in 2000.

Death Cab for Cutie's third full-length album, The Photo Album, was released in 2001, just as the band was garnering positive attention from the indie music scene. Despite the group's low key success, it wasn't until after the release of Transatlanticism that Death Cab for Cutie hit it big. The album's title track along with "The Sound of Settling" were featured on a number of television shows as well as making it into the rotation of many radio stations. With the success of the album commercially and critically, Death Cab for Cutie entered the mainstream and began headlining numerous tour dates. Death Cab for Cutie's first Atlantic Records release was Plans in 2005 and was received with acclaim similar to Transatlanticism. After tour dates that consumed the entirety of 2006, the band began recording an album in 2007 that they knew from the start would be a huge departure from what they were comfortable with. The dicey move paid off as Narrow Stairs became Death Cab for Cutie's first album to reach #1 on the Billboard Hot 200, and maintained the group's reputation as a huge draw on tour dates.

2011's Codes and Keys presented the band with a number of firsts. The album featured far less guitar than previous albums; as evidenced in the hit single, "You Are a Tourist". Not only is "You Are a Tourist" the first Death Cab for Cutie single to reach #1 on Billboard's US Alternative Songs chart, but the song's music video is also the first ever to be filmed and broadcast live; in one take, no less.

During the recording of Death Cab's 2015, Kintsugi, guitarist Chris Walla surprised band members and fans alike when he announced he would be leaving the band after 17 years. That didn't stop Walla from becoming a driving force behind the album; including its hit single, "Black Sun", which reached #2 on the BillboardUS Alt. Songs chart. Gibbard has described the album as a return to Death Cab for Cutie's musical roots, saying that it would win back any fans alienated by their previous musical explorations.
