KROQ presents Declan McKenna at the Constellation Room at the Observatory on March 30th.
Declan McKenna: Born and raised in Hertfordshire, Declan McKenna became a breakout star after winning the 2015 Glastonbury Festival's Emerging Artist Competition. Following a heated bidding war between record labels, McKenna signed with the illustrious Colombia Records. His first single became "Brazil", a song criticizing the human rights violations surrounding the 2014 FIFA World Cup and the ensuing corruption scandal.

McKenna's second single was "Paracetamol"; a heartfelt song about the stigma and stereotyping of young transgendered people. While the song wasn't a commercial hit like his previous single, critics and fans praised the track as an intelligent and social-conscious message from a burgeoning young artist.

In 2016, McKenna released two EPs with very similar track listings: Liar and Stains. The albums were mostly vehicles for McKenna's increasing number of hit singles, as well as a precursor to his debut studio album, What Do You Think About the Car?. The 2017 album is a collection of mostly protest songs that received resounding praise from music critics, and have established McKenna as a popular, professional musician.
